Edison Chen departs Hong Kong for Hollywood
Edison Chen, The man of the so-called Hong Kong actor sex scandal, has apparently left Hong Kong secretly for Los Angeles via Bangkok this afternoon after sending the media on a wild goose chase with a “cat and mouse” manoeuvre
Edison Chen’s mode of escape was described in detail by the media today as he managed to shake off the cluster of media camping at the Four Seasons Hotel and made his “escape” overseas without too much attention.
Yesterday at 7 in the morning, the 7-seater car (which Edison used to get around) and the BMW (used by his bodyguards to cover his car) left Four Seasons Hotel for Edison’s home and parked there until around 3 in the afternoon before it returned to the hotel. The reporters were shocked to learn that Edison was sighted at the airport at around 2.45pm. He had apparently took another car during that period to get to the airport. It’s said that he said goodbye smugly when he passed by the boarding gates.
Edison Chen is expected to be discussing a possible movie deal in Los Angeles through his Hollywood agent, William Morris before leaving for New York where he will enrol in the six months movie production course at New York University. He will thus not be back in Hong Kong for at least the next year or so.
Edison participation in the investigations with the police ended on 26th February and he has stated through his lawyers that he left Hong Kong knowing that his status is that as a victim. But the police claims otherwise and said that that is what Edison thinks. They refused to count out the possibility of him turning into an accused party.
In the meantime, in the latest Next Magazine, Nicholas Tse is reportedly faking a front in front of everyone and is deliberating over a divorce with Cecilia Chung.
Edison Chen is apparently still pretty upset with Cecilia for lying to him about her fling with Edison while dating him. He is stopping short of asking for a divorce in case Cecilia brings their son and commit suicide together and second, not wanting to be seen as a “heartless” husband
So the real victim here is Nicolas and his young son Lucas. It’s such a shame because Cecilia and Nic make such a handsome pair. It seems Edison isn’t really leaving the entertainment business, he’s just diverting his career to Hollywood just what everyone has predicted!
In the United states, scandals are so common and isnt a crime for being a playboy unlike in Asia where people are more conservative. He will survive better and become more successful there and he should be thanking the lucky stars as this explosive scandal has made him very famous overnight, it’s like a blessing in disguise for him. Losers are the women, his huge appetite for sex has made him a hero as most of the top HK female stars have fallen into his sausage.

Obviously he’s going to leave Hong Kong. I can’t believe people were actually thinking he’ll stay behind and try to fix things up. Honestly, even if he were to stay in Hong Kong, I don’t see what he can do. This guy simply has zero privacy if he stays in Hong Kong. If he were to do any community or volunteer work, it’s gotta be out of Hong Kong. Imagine the guy going to an elder’s home and doing some volunteering work. ALL of the reporters in Hong Kong would be going nuts at the elder home. He DID say he was going to be out of the Hong Kong entertainment industry indefinitly, not FOREVER. I am not a fan of his, but I think he did the right thing for leaving Hong Kong. ah, what a difference it makes when the press is reporting something TRUE & REAL– they get so detailed & specific.. & I bet– if anyone checks– their info will be all spot-on..it makes it even more obvious– when they are inventing & fabricating gossip..
it’s like NIGHT & DAY– as nothing makes sense!
as for Edison trying Hollywood??? we’ll soon see– as I wonder if HW honchos want anyone with such baggage.
Wow this is interesting. I live in NYC so if Edison enrolls for NYU, it’s a big chance for me to see him. If this was back then when I used to be so obssesed with him, I would’ve been crazy and go out to the city everyday just to bumb into him. But now, he’s nothing special anymore. But anyways, I think this scandal should come to an end already. It’s getting boring. I feel so sad for Nicholas to be dragged into this too because of his wife.
