American Idol 2008 - Paula Abdul denies being drunk on David Letterman

Paula Abdul denies being drunk on David Letterman
American Idol judge Paula Abdul denied she was drunk during a rambling TV interview in which she revealed a fan stole her urine sample from a gynecologist.

The singer baffled chatshow host David Letterman with some bizarre responses and anecdotes. But he got a dirty look and a firm “No” from a finger-wagging Paula when he asked her: “Are you drunk?”

Paula stunned Letterman when he asked her if she had been excited playing at the Super Bowl last month. She said: “It was an amazing experience…whatever.”

Then when he asked if she is still excited about American Idol, she replied: “No.”

Letterman said: “I know you’re just teasing aren’t you?”

But Paula repeated: “No.”

She did eventually say: “I’m thrilled about doing American Idol.”

Paula was holding hands with an uneasy-looking Letterman when the show returned from a commercial break. She told how one star-struck fan tried to take a photo of her in the cubicle of a restaurant bathroom.

But then she also revealed another fan swiped her urine sample from her gynecologist’s. She said: “This little lady who works there and had worked there for a long time said, ‘I’m sorry but my son’s your biggest fan.’”
